Overtone Chanter

Singer-Songwriter

Offering Overtone Chanting & Song

Academic studies in Performing Arts at Middlesex University, and whilst in my final year travelling and performing for four and a half months in India, I encouraged local children to teach me to speak Hindi, and also learnt to read and write Hindi script.

After that I embarked on solo travels for six weeks before returning to London to present academic cultural perspectives in dissertation.

After graduating and moving into the field of acting, continuing to learn, and find truth in: physical theatre, post graduate Afrikan, Caribbean and Contemporary dance and associated studies, provided experiences and on visiting the British Museum, Sekhmet presented herself to me, and became my assignment, and, for a practical assessment, the Orisha Obatala, in a meditation, came to show me the way: as a Warrior for Peace.

Workshops to date for children and young people, developing creative writing of: poetry, song, character comedy, and in preparing scripts for radio and screen, it is now time to take a breath and crystallize a personal unique expression.

Inspired by practice in Overtone chanting; learnt in workshops with Jill Purcell, has led to exponential development of voice for singing jazz, and recently entering the world of voiceovers.

Meditation as a personal tool, and, a desire to share/teach Overtone Chanting technique to others,is a means of managing self in an otherwise seemingly confused and turbulent world, and for me as a daily spiritual discipline now serves as a focus and perspective for drawing on all experiences thus far: to be enabled to move into a landscaped language that resonates creatively and personally on this current life's journey.
